Yesterday was my first official day of P90x. I have been working out everyday for the last year and wanted to change up my routine a little. I have talked to people who have used P90x and then have been reading excellent reviews online. After some research I decided I would give it a try. Yesterday I started with the chest and back exercises along with the ab workout. All I can say is today I am struggling to walk. I am so sore and the worst part is I still have to do todays Plyometrics workout. I am hoping its worth the time and I should have some updates periodically on how I am doing...

Food for thought...

I was at the store last night and saw some food that gave me a laugh... First was something called tuna partner...I am not sure what it is but it doesn't sound good. The other is MuffinTops cereal. The funny thing is that its twice the calories of normal cereal, and in fact will give you a muffin top. Awesome...

King Herod's Tomb Found...

5/08/2007

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem announced Monday night that it has uncovered the grave and tomb of Herod, who ruled Judea for the Roman empire from circa 37 BCE.

Professor Ehud Netzer of the university's Institute of Archaeology told reporters Tuesday that the tomb was discovered when a team of researchers found pieces of a limestone sarcophagus believed to belong to the ancient king.

Although there were no bones in the container, he said the sarcophagus' location and ornate appearance indicated it was Herod's.

"It's a sarcophagus we don't just see anywhere," Netzer said. "It is something very special."

Netzer led the team, though he said he was not on the site when the sarcophagus was found.

He said the sarcophagus had been smashed into pieces, most likely by someone seeking revenge on Herod during the great Jewish rebellion of 66-72 CE.

"The discovery of the grave is the high point in the excavation at the site," said Netzer.

The professor, who is considered one of the leading experts on King Herod, has conducted archeological digs at Herodium since 1972 in an attempt to locate the grave and tomb.

The Devil came on Horseback.

I have been reading about this movie for a while and think it should be something every adults and students should see. It's evident that changes need to be made to help these people. It's not just enough to have a few telethons to raise money, everyone can do their part. The movie is about US Marine Captain Brian Steidle during his role as a military observer with the African Union. Steidle had access to parts of the country that no journalist could penetrate. He was unprepared for what he would witness and experience, including being fired upon, taken hostage, and being unable to intervene to save the lives of young children. This is the closet thing next to being there.

I am hoping it will come to Kansas City theaters, I will post it when I get the dates...

A man wrongfully accused...

The story of Eric Volz is scary, heart wrenching, and unfortunately, very real– it has gained national attention with a story in the Wall Street Journal last week, and the viral exposure it’s sure to get with this YouTube video will surely make it a huge and widely recognized piece of national (and international) news. I will let you learn the details by watching this video– as it does such a great job of explaining the story– but the basics are that American Eric Volz was living a great life in Nicaragua as a publisher for El Puente Magazine, a travel lifestyle magazine focusing on eco-tourism in Nicaragua. Upon the mysterious death of an ex-girlfriend, law enforcement came after him despite a solid alibi, locked him up for 84 days, and then a judge convicted him of the murder without following any concrete evidence– he was basically tried in the press. Violations of Eric’s rights to due process run rampant throughout this story, and it’s sure to elicit a surprised and sickened reaction from you all. People have began writting politicians a letter on his behalf. And the media is finally taking notice.

Most High and Glorious God

5/01/2007

Most High and glorious God,
enlighten the darkness of our hearts
and give us true faith,
a certain hope and a perfect love.
Give us a sense of the divine
and knowledge of yourself,
so that we may do everything
in fulfillment of your holy will;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
